About Orphanage

It was in 1940 that a few notables of Abbottabad took interest in managing the affairs of the neglected orphans. They worked hard and established an institution that was the only home for the orphans. The tireless and sincere efforts of the pioneers succeeded and the orphanage was founded and registered in 1945. It was not only a home for the orphans but was also a religious platform where they could get Islamic education.

The orphanage sustained after the emergence of Pakistan and besides all their financial difficulties, people of Abbottabad supported the institution progressively. The sense of social responsibility and patriotism of the administrators really facilitated the process of registering the institute again in 1963. The district administration of Abbottabad became directly involved in the activities of The Orphanage in 1976 and till now it is supporting the institute.

The orphanage was reformed after 2005 when young and hard working team joined the elders in their efforts. People from different walks of life participated in the activities of the orphanage and joined it as members. Plans were made to raise funds and improve the living condition of the orphans. Several governmental and private donor agencies were also contacted to run different useful projects within the orphanage. The administration took initiatives to associate several welfare homes throughout the country to work jointly. The children of this orphanage are now able to join other welfare institutions for higher education.

We travel the world to find inspiring ministries that care for orphans and vulnerable children, then we give them what they need to keep their doors open and better the lives of the children they serve.

OUR OBJECTIVES

To provide shelter to the orphans of 5 to 15 years of age ‘to provide formal and religious education
To provide facilities of boarding, lodging and clothing ‘to establish technical and vocational training center for the orphans
To help the orphans in their professional development so that they get proper employment as adults to involve the orphans in different social, cultural and religious activities
To provide higher education to the orphans in different associated institutions It is the primary responsibility of the institute to provide the orphans with boarding, lodging and clothing facilities. With large and spacious rooms, the institute provides all living facilities to the orphans e.g. Bedding, blankets, tables, chairs, etc.
The orphans are admitted in different well reputed governmental and private schools of the city where they are properly followed up for their academic progress. The children are also helped in their home work by a tutor in the evening.
The orphans are provided with religious education in the premises of the institute’s own mosque and under the guidance of a religious teacher.
By the help of a volunteer consultant doctor, the orphans are provided with routine medical check up and emergency care.
The orphans are involved in different in and out door games to enjoy their leisure time.
The orphans are sometimes taken outside for recreational and learning trips for their proper psychosocial development. Several extra-curricular activities are organized for the orphans and different competitions are held time to time.
The orphans are provided with daily pocket money so that they would not feel inferiority complex in the school.

Then we measure progress based on the established 12 Rights of the Child. Once a children’s home maintains 90%+ goal achievement, they become a Miracle Foundation partner and can count on ongoing support. This approach is proven, sustainable, corruption proof and fully replicable.

Local Empowerment

As the saying goes, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” Instead of “giving fish” to help children without parents short term, we teach children’s homes how to become high-performance, high-functioning homes. And we give local single women and widows a new purpose and an important role. By protecting, teaching and caring for local women. We appreciate the women for women empowerment.

Focus on Education

Education liberates. Each child in our care is given a quality education through the 12th grade, with the opportunity for college scholarships or vocational training after that. Our goal is to have each child become a healthy, happy, income-producing person—and break the cycle of poverty. This is a lifetime solution. And it’s a win-win for all. OUR SUPPORT

The Orphanage Abbottabad sustains on self-reliance basis and progressively needs support from those who have a kind heart and wish to help the destitute. Your moral and financial contribution in our “One-day Support Program” can surely bring a positive change in helping out the orphans in their survival and developmental needs.

What you need to do is to select a day in a year; the day which is somehow important in your life and you would like to help the needy on that day specifically. You would be requested to pay a visit to the orphanage on that day; spend some time with the children and donate Rs. 1000 only which is the approximate expenditure of the orphanage for a day. Thus, you will be the caretaker of the orphans on that day.
