Several short-term donor funded projects also take place besides the routine activities of the orphanage.
As Information Technology is a basic skill in today’s professional life, the institute developed a modern computer lab within its premises by taking funds from Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal. This IT center provides computer literacy not only to the orphan boys residing in the institute but also to the orphan girls coming as outsiders.
The orphanage was funded by TVO in 2005 to establish a Women Skill Development Institute within its premises. This institute provides short vocational and technical courses of 3, 6 and 12 months. A 2- years diploma course is also conducted. These courses are affiliated with the Trade Testing Board of Technical Education NWFP. The handicrafts made by these women are exhibited and the products are promoted nationally and internationally so that these women would earn sufficient and sustainable income after getting trained.
There are more homes that can be built in the Safe Haven Village. These homes will each consist of house parents along with up to 8 – 10 orphans that will be loved, encouraged and nurtured. Our hope is not only to take orphans off the streets, but to also be able to reach out and bring hope to the surrounding community through missionaries and support teams. In order to do this, we need your help.
